Ardmac launches campaign to eliminate single use plastics
Ardmac, the leading International construction specialist, has announced that it is calling on suppliers to the construction industry to work with them in reducing the use of single use plastics across its operations, as part of its vision to have a more positive impact on people and the planet.
Ardmac is seeking support from suppliers to look at alternatives to single use plastics to reduce the serious environmental impact. Currently, a vast amount of building materials contains single use plastic elements. Ardmac is seeking suppliers to consider offering plastic free alternatives to construction materials which would be suitable for Data Centres, Cleanrooms and specialist construction environments.
Ronan Quinn, CEO of Ardmac, said: “This is a very important issue for our industry, as single use plastics are having a detrimental effect on our environment. This awareness campaign forms part of Ardmac’s CSR programme, Sky Blue, which provides a valuable framework for our corporate responsibility objectives. We hope that the rest of the construction industry will also support this important initiative.”
Supporting the environment is a key focus for Ardmac’s business; they have recently introduced waste segregation across its offices, introduced Eco Fibre travel mugs for employees, and are currently driving an internal environment awareness campaign on this issue.
