Suzana works as a Regional Quality Control Advisor, but her role goes far beyond her job title. She’s known for helping people grow in their careers, sharing her knowledge, and always being there to offer advice. Whether she’s working with new graduates or experienced professionals, Suzana takes the time to understand their needs and help them succeed
Helping Others Grow
Suzana’s way of mentoring is personal and thoughtful. She doesn’t just give instructions – she listens, encourages, and helps people build confidence. Through Ardmac’s Graduate Programme , she supports new team members with regular one-on-one meetings, training sessions, and opportunities to learn on the job. One of her mentees, Helen Davies, summed it up perfectly:

Suzana is passionate about Quality. She’s helped change how people think about audits, not as something to fear, but as a chance to learn and improve. Her calm and supportive approach has helped teams feel more confident and take pride in doing things right.

Why Quality Matters in Construction
Quality in construction is about more than just meeting standards, it’s about building safely, efficiently, and with care. She tells us – ‘Quality goes far beyond ticking boxes or passing audits. It’s about the pride people take in their work, the accountability they uphold, and the deep respect they have for those who rely on what we build. True quality is embedded in how we implement our procedures with consistency and integrity, how we communicate across teams, and how we continuously seek opportunities to improve.’
Good quality management means everyone on the team understands what’s expected and takes pride in doing things right the first time. In today’s fast-moving industry, a strong focus on quality is key to long-term success.

Suzana’s support has made a real difference. Her mentees have earned new qualifications, taken on new roles, and even moved into areas like sustainability. She’s helped improve how teams work, how clients see Ardmac, and how people feel about their own careers.
‘To me, mentorship is about being a reliable source of support, not just for answers, but for guidance, encouragement, and practical insight. It’s about walking alongside someone as they grow in their role, helping them navigate challenges with confidence, and celebrating their progress as a shared achievement’ says Suzana.
A True Role Model
Suzana is more than a mentor, she’s a role model. She’s involved in leadership programmes and works hard to support women in construction. Her dedication to inclusion and teamwork sets a great example for everyone, as one of her mentees, Vanessa, added “Suzana is an inspiration to all who work with her.”
And Yes – She Won an Award!
Earlier this year, Suzana was named “Mentor of the Year” at the 2025 Women in Construction Awards. This award celebrates people who have made a big difference in helping others grow in the industry. It’s a well-deserved recognition of Suzana’s hard work, kindness, and leadership.
‘Creating that kind of culture doesn’t happen by chance. It takes committed leadership, ongoing training, and daily reinforcement. It’s about creating an environment where doing things right the first time isn’t a target, it’s the norm.’ she says.
