On a sunny autumn morning, over 150 cyclists gathered at the Swords Business Campus, home to Ardmac’s Dublin headquarters, to take part in Cycle for Hope 2025, an event that brings together our industry to raise awareness and support for mental health.

This year’s event offered three scenic routes of 35km, 65km, and 100km, with a well-earned rest and refreshment stop in Duleek, allowing participants to recharge and catch their breath. Whether seasoned riders or first-time cyclists, everyone shared one common goal: to support vital mental health services in construction and beyond.

Cycle for Hope is part of the wider Sky Blue programme at Ardmac. This event reflects Ardmac’s deep-rooted ethos of putting people first and prioritising wellbeing.

By championing the Sky Blue programme, Cycle for Hope becomes more than a fundraising event; it’s a celebration of resilience, inclusion, and the power of collective action.

Supporting Mental Health, Together

The 2025 Cycle for Hope proudly supported Pieta and The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, two organisations making a real difference in the lives of those facing mental health challenges. On the day, we were honoured to be joined by Fionn Whelan from Pieta and Anne Marie Sheehan from The Lighthouse Charity, who shared powerful insights while saying a few words before the cyclists set off on their journey.

Over the past five years, 1,000 cyclists have come together through Cycle for Hope, raising over €350,000. This funding has helped promote access to essential support services and fostered a culture of openness and care across our industry.

About Pieta

About The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity

The Lighthouse Charity is the only organisation dedicated to the emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing of construction workers and their families in Ireland and the UK. Their free 24/7 helpline, live chat, and text services offer confidential support on a wide range of issues. They also provide wellbeing training through their Wellbeing Academy, and safe spaces via Lighthouse Beacons.

Community, Collaboration, and Celebration

The event wouldn’t have been possible without our fantastic partner, Swords Cycling Club, led by Mark McCarthy, whose expertise in route planning and event coordination is always a great asset. The club’s support ensured a safe, enjoyable experience for all participants. We extend a special thanks to the road marshals from Swords Cycling Club for making the day safe and enjoyable for all.

Back at the base of our Swords Business Campus, attendees enjoyed delicious bites from Wingman and Bob’s Pizza, fresh brews from The Beanery, and lively tunes from Ukebox, creating a festival-like feeling that celebrated community and connection.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the 25 Ardmac volunteers who played a vital role in making Cycle for Hope 2025 happen. From coordinating logistics to supporting cyclists along the route, their dedication and teamwork ensured the event ran smoothly and safely. The enthusiasm and commitment truly embodied the spirit of Ardmac, turning an idea into a meaningful experience for all involved. Cycle for Hope wouldn’t be possible without their incredible support.

Looking Ahead

Cycle for Hope is more than just a cycling event now in 2025, it’s becoming a tradition for many. It’s about bringing people together, raising awareness, and making a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most. As we reflect on this year’s success, we’re already looking forward to what 2026 will bring.

To everyone who cycled, volunteered, donated, or cheered from the sidelines – thank you. You’ve helped turn hope into real action.
