Ardmac are delighted to have been shortlisted for North West Regional Construction Awards for Sub-Regional Project of the Year – Liverpool for our work at Rathbones at the Port of Liverpool in assocation with project partners KKA and White Young Green (WYG).

Now in its 11th year, the Awards are hosted by the School of the Built Environment at the University of Salford and by Constructing Excellence North West and the Centre for Construction Innovation.

Andrew Winstanley, Managing Director for Ardmac, said, “These awards are recognised across the North West as celebrate the best practice and innovative working in the construction industry. We are pleased that Ardmac with the design team of KKA and White Young Green, has been recognised for its dedicated work for Rathbones at the Port of Liverpool, one of the three Graces of Liverpool. The Grade II listed building has been transformed, seamlessly integrating new finishes to existing period features, so to create a new workspace floor and common areas. All works have been undertaken in a totally live environment, delivering space on a phased basis around existing staff members.”

Professor Peter McDermott, Chair of the Judging Panel, and Constructing Excellence in the North West, said: “2017 has seen an increase in the number of entries and the judges are faced with a thoroughly enjoyable but difficult task of separating one excellent submission from another. The submissions are clearly pan-industry and cross-disciplinary. There has been some minor adjustment to the categories this year. This has served to focus the judges on those people, firms and projects that are demonstrating how collaboration and innovation are characteristics of the North West region. These characteristics give confidence that the sector will respond well to the current challenges and opportunities presented by devolution in our region, BREXIT and the renewed government commitment to industrial strategy.

Don Ward, Chief Executive of Constructing Excellence (National), said; ‘We are aware that the North West Market prospects are among the best in the country. These are exciting times for Constructing Excellence; the differing needs of regions are well recognised but in 2017 we are all considering how best to work with Mark Farmer on a response to his report ‘Modernise or Die’ (#FarmerReview).’

The prestigious event will take place on 23 June 2017 at the Principal Hotel in Manchester.
