This year, we are proud to announce that five of our remarkable employees have been nominated for the prestigious Women in Construction Awards. This recognition is a testament to their work ethic, talent and exceptional contributions to the construction sector. 

We are committed to providing our employees with the tools, support, and opportunities they need to develop and progress throughout their career.

The representation of women in construction continues to grow. We are proud to be significantly above the industry average with 22% female employees, and we are actively working to improve that through inclusive hiring processes and our partnership with the Irish Centre for Diversity.  We are grateful to have such a diverse and talented group of individuals driving our company forward.

Thays Brito – Health and Safety

Thays’s commitment to creating a safe working environment is evident not only in her efforts to ensure safe working environments for our teams and adherence to regulations, but also in her proactive approach to fostering a safety-first culture, and bringing her teams along on that journey. Thays believes that a robust health and safety framework in construction not only protects employees, but also enhances productivity and efficiency across projects. 

Lauren O’Shea – Health and Safety  

Lauren’s unwavering commitment to maintaining high safety standards and ensuring the well-being of her colleagues is truly commendable. Lauren’s efforts have been instrumental in reinforcing Ardmac’s dedication to health and safety, keeping our worksites safe for all staff and showcasing how critical these values are to our overall mission. 

Vanessa Rafael – Sustainability Leadership

Vanessa Rafael exemplifies what it means to lead with sustainability at the forefront of the business. As a finalist in the Sustainability Leadership category, she is recognised for her innovative approaches to embedding sustainable practices within our operations. From resource management to waste reduction strategies, Vanessa’s work aims to minimise environmental impact while ensuring that Ardmac’s projects contribute positively to the communities we serve. 

Caoimhe Kiely – Rising Star

Caoimhe Kiely stands out as a Rising Star in construction, making her mark as an emerging leader within Ardmac. Her potential and drive have been clear from day one, and this nomination highlights her impressive trajectory in her role as Graduate Site Manager. As a passionate advocate for women in construction, Caoimhe serves as an inspiration to her peers and embodies the future of leadership in our industry. 

Suzana Dobrescu – Mentor

In the mentorship category, Suzana Dobrescu’s nomination underscores the importance of guidance and support in career development. As a mentor, she has dedicated herself to nurturing and empowering younger professionals within the company.
