Justine Geminiani holds a pivotal role in Ardmac as our Pre-Construction Lead in Engineering. Justine brings together all elements of the project and aligns the project team under a shared strategy with project goals and objectives.
Justine graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Architectural Studies from the Nelson Mandela University, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. In 2009, Justine began her career as an Architectural Technologist for Moors Milne & Kievit Architects, where she was quickly promoted to mid-management. The role was all-encompassing, from liaising with the client, producing feasibility and concept drawings, preparing planning applications and providing all the documentation required for local authority approvals. It also included developing tender documentation and completing the architectural detail design construction packs required to take the project through to completion, including project management as required.
From 2011 – 2016, to expand her knowledge and experience of architectural design and engineering, Justine took on a consulting role as an Architectural Technologist working with an engineering project management company on projects primarily in the food industry.
In 2017, together with her family Justine emigrated from South Africa to Ireland, where almost immediately, thanks to her expertise and credentials, Justine joined the team at Keegan Precast Ltd. as a Senior CAD Technician where she gained invaluable experience in structural design. Working for a subcontractor, liaising with Tier 1 Main Contractors and renowned design teams on large scale structural projects provided extensive experience and connections within the Irish construction industry and Justine’s team successfully delivered major projects such as The Hyatt Centric Hotel & the Holiday Inn, Clonshaugh.
Once again, in 2019, Justine had the opportunity to expand her career by working as an architectural technologist for an award-winning architectural Practice, JCA Architects. Justine worked in the retail division of the practice as an Architectural Lead on several international projects for a well renowned retail franchise. This role involved taking the lead on design presentations, feasibility studies, planning applications, and producing architectural documentation required for tender and construction stages, as well as liaising and coordinating information with all project consultants.
With a focus on continuous improvement and ongoing learning, Justine pursued an IPMA® Level D Project Management Diploma in 2020 with the Institute of Project Management Ireland to further her career in project management.
Justine’s career thereafter progressed towards a site-based design role, working for Hannon Meehan Architects as a Resident Architect for the CLN5/6 Clonee Data Centre. The career changing role involved review and coordination of architectural design information with the various contractors and the design team, attending relevant benchmarks, assessing milestones, carrying out progress inspections, tracking project progress and overall leading the review of all architectural design elements, ensuring the architectural design intent was successfully achieved.
In 2022 with the intent of expanding her experience and moving towards a Design Coordination role, she pursued a career as Pre-Construction Lead at Ardmac. This role has afforded Justine the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in multidisciplinary design of highly technical spaces. Justine is now an expert in leading design and build projects through the pre-construction stage, successfully managing the completion of design, planning, commercial and procurement related deliverables as required.
She leads the design team throughout the pre-construction phase as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring the design phase is completed to the highest standard, on schedule and within budget.
Justine’s role and skillset is crucial in this industry as it sets the foundation for successful project execution. Justine is always professional and is a role model for others.
She is a living example of how we have embraced Sky Blue, Ardmac’s ESG framework guiding our responsible business approach and outlining our sustainability commitments. She does this by ensuring adherence to the principles from stage 1 of the project, e.g. waste management processes or the use of clean energy and reduction of the carbon footprint. Also, as a leader on projects, her friendly and engaging manner is exemplary of Ardmac’s culture and values.
‘Since joining Ardmac in September last year Justine has quickly established herself as key member of the Ardmac Design & Build team. In her role as the Pre-Construction Lead, she has demonstrated the right mix of technical ability and drive required to support the rest of the team in successfully delivering the key elements of the pre-construction phase of our D&B projects. Her experience, qualifications and personality mean that she is popular and very well respected by the rest of the team and the client’s that we deal with. Justine strives to deliver quality in everything she does and continuously helps drive the standards across the whole team.’
