At Ardmac, sustainability is more than a buzzword—it’s a responsibility we all share. Recently, Vanessa Rafael (ESG Lead) hosted a company-wide Sustainability Workshop that brought together colleagues from across different departments, to explore how we can further contribute to a more sustainable future, and how we can continue to improve.
The day began with a series of presentations, where team members from each department showcased how sustainability is embedded in their daily operations. Each presentation highlighted current efforts—from resource efficiency to responsible sourcing—as well as honest reflections on areas for improvement. We analysed a wide range of initiatives and ideas, proving that every team has a role to play in driving change.
Following the presentations, attendees rolled up their sleeves and got involved in some hands-on group activities. The focus turned to analysing our Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—specifically looking at our Actions, Goals, and KPIs. This was a valuable exercise in aligning our efforts with measurable outcomes, ensuring that our ambitions translate into real-world impact.
The group moved into a collaborative session titled “Ideas to Actions”, where the teams brainstormed practical steps to bring our sustainability ideas to life. The discussion encouraged cross-departmental thinking and helped transform abstract goals into clear, actionable plans.
The workshop was not only a valuable opportunity to reflect on what we’ve already achieved, but also to generate fresh ideas on how we can evolve our practices, strengthen cross-departmental collaboration, and embed sustainability more deeply across the business.
The day ended with a short reflection session, summarising the key takeaways and reinforcing our collective commitment to sustainability. It was a powerful reminder that progress doesn’t come from one department alone, but from shared Ardmac vision and teamwork.
