Ardmac was engaged to deliver two new ISO 8 cleanrooms within an operational high-tech manufacturing facility in Castlereagh, Belfast.
The project includes new cleanroom spaces, an x-ray cabin, airlock, gowning areas, and ancillary rooms, along with internal wall modifications and external façade changes to improve material distribution. The works are carried out at an active industrial unit in East Belfast, supporting specialist manufacturing processes, including aerospace & defence sector components.
The cleanrooms will be fully serviced with modern mechanical and electrical systems, including AHUs, chiller and pipework, supply and extract ductwork, door access, CCTV, fire alarm, and sprinkler systems, all fully commissioned and validated to current industry standards.
The site remains fully operational throughout construction, requiring careful coordination to minimise disruption and maintain safety. Ardmac also ensures robust cyber security, achieving Cyber Essentials certification in June 2024 and Cyber Essentials Plus in October 2024.
