Location: Manchester
Project Size: 85,000 sq. ft.
Duration: 52 Weeks
Ardmac has recently completed the Cat A fit-out of the six-storey city centre, landmark building. Working alongside Savills, MZA and 5Plus Architects, the work comprised of the complete refurbishment of the building including all new MEP and state of the art ‘daylight lighting’ and the reduction in size of the six-storey atrium to enlarge the ‘net’ lettable area of the building.
While working in a live environment the six-storey atrium was clad with new curtain walling while PWC was the incumbent tenant on three floors. Through daily work planning meetings with PWC’s representative, all noisy or disruptive works were undertaken out of hours ensuring a great working relationship was maintained with AEW’s tenant at all times.
The project involved extensive alterations to the entrance of the building. This included breaking out the first floor concrete floor plate and extending the entrance out by installing new curtain walling, creating a new two-storey spacious reception. The high end contemporary design focused on the use of high quality, simple finishes to create a sophisticated bespoke reception area.
Following the success of 101 Barbirolli AEW Europe and Savills negotiated 100 Barbirolli £19M project with Ardmac
