Ardmac recently completed Phase 1 of the high quality office and laboratory fit-out at the Alderley Park Bio-Hub and was then awarded Phase 2 which is currently live on site.

The Phase 1 fit-out included five new laboratories, office space, meeting rooms, kitchen and break-out areas. The new open plan office area has exposed services and LED lighting carefully integrated with acoustic ceiling rafts.

On the ground floor Ardmac created five new research laboratories. These labs are installed to a Category 2 type lab for cell immunisation, general use lab, robotic arm demonstration area and mass spectrometer laboratories.  In addition, and along with the bespoke laboratory furniture, medical gas installations, fume cupboards, -80C freezers, fridges, centrifuge equipment were also installed into the labs.

All of the installations and commissioning of services have been carried out by the Ardmac team to the acceptance of Medicines Discovery Catapult engineering and scientific staff and the clients consultation team through Cundals. On Phase 2, Ardmac is currently working with Zerum, Fairhurst Architects and MDC for the next stage of the build with Category C, close control areas for mass spectrometer and microscopy laboratories, these areas require a rigid approach to quality control to ensure that the exacting standards to the construction and services are maintained.

“With the fit-out playing a key part in the development and growth of MDC, it was essential a collaboratve and sensitive approach was adopted by all members of the project team. Ardmac played an integral part; not only in delivery but in understanding the client’s needs and requirements. The teams approach to cost control, collaboration and delivery whilst developing key relationships with both Client and Landlord Stakeholders proved invaluable. …We would not hesitate in recommending Ardmac Performance Contracting for future schemes.”
