Lisa Jennings is a Business Development & Bid Manager at Ardmac and has been with the company since 2016.
As Business Development & Bid Manager, Lisa plays a key role in driving business growth, securing new projects, and expanding the company’s market presence in the highly competitive construction industry.
She began her career in Architecture following her graduation from Queens University, Belfast with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture in 2003. Lisa started working with Van Dijk Architects in Dundalk. She assisted in feasibility, concept drawings, preparing planning applications and tender and construction drawings for many projects.
In 2007, Lisa decided to further her professional qualifications, going back to Queens University to study a Masters in Construction & Project Management, part time. During a time of recession, it was vital for Lisa to stay current and adapt to the job market.
With the deepened knowledge and skills of her new qualification, Lisa joined Manley Construction as their Business Development Executive. She worked mainly on tendering proposals for their UK business.
She quickly settled into her new role, managing all tender submissions. This included PQQs and RFP. She consistently met deadlines and delivered quality proposals to public sector clients. Six months into the role, following the departure of the Business Development Manager, Lisa stepped up on her responsibilities. She then began tracking and pursuing opportunities in Ireland and the UK. She did this work along with reporting weekly to the Board of Directors. At the time, most market opportunities were within the public sector. Demonstrating experience and capability within new sectors was a challenge but rewarding.
With a desire to develop further in bids and tenders, Lisa joined Ardmac in 2016. To date she has been influential in winning some of Ardmac’s key projects with global clients. This was achieved through high motivation, a critical eye for detail, and a consistent positive ‘can do’ attitude.
Lisa continues to play a crucial role in the growth and success of Ardmac’s Interiors business. Key activities include overseeing the process of preparing, submitting and winning bids for fit-out projects. She ensures that all bids are competitive, compliant, and aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. Her contribution includes identifying opportunities, coordinating cross-functional teams and managing resources effectively.
Ultimately, her efforts have led to securing new business opportunities and expanding the company’s market share. This ensures growth for Ardmac Interiors. In her time with Ardmac, she has helped to improve the win rate to 1:2.5. This can be attributed to a client-centric approach. She takes the time to thoroughly understand client’s requirements, objectives, and expectations for a project. Lisa will then tailor bids to address specific project needs. It is crucial to demonstrate how Ardmac’s solution aligns to their specific project goals. Lisa been influential in winning some key opportunities with global clients.
