Ardmac has launched their latest mental health awareness campaign to coincide with October’s mental health month. The specialist construction company’s “Pause II Chat” campaign will launch take place on October 11th to help create an environment that encourages positive conversations.
The campaign encourages teams to take time out of their working day to complete two team engagement activities. As teams can change from project to project , the activities help individuals get to know each other and develop long term camaraderie within the teams. The idea is to help create a supportive, safe and comfortable environment within each team so employees feel they can reach out should they need someone to talk to on a personal level at work.
The campaign will run annually at Ardmac and forms part of their overall Sky Blue CSR programme. The campaign is the latest in a series of activities the company have developed to support mental health and wellness for their employees. Earlier in the year, the company launched workplace handbooks on mental health for managers.
The company support mental health charities Pieta House and Manchester Mind and each employee receives help info cards with details of organisations to support them as well as access to an employee assistance programme. External speakers and well-being practitioners regularly conduct lunchtime learning sessions for employees. Ardmac have supported and encouraged many employees in external sporting events such as Park Runs, Corporate Challenge events, Charity Cycling and golf outings. Most recently, the company have trained and introduced dedicated internal Mental Health First Aid officers.
