The new Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facility in Co. Dublin was developed in response to increasing demand for medical device manufacturing, and represents the company’s most recent investment in Ireland. This premier Medtech company appointed Ardmac as the single source for design, construction, commissioning, and qualification of the new facility, which must meet the stringent requirements of pharmaceutical and governmental regulations. The brief included the design phase co-ordination of all structural, civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical elements.
Our senior team devised methodologies for the pre-contract, design, and build stages. A three-week float was established to de-risk the programme, and variations that could affect the programme were immediately highlighted to the client for agreement. Our team created a timeline of key milestones, which kept the project on schedule.
We seamlessly delivered a world-class manufacturing medical device facility that fully supports the client’s business objectives. The 6,600-square-metre complex includes new cleanrooms for production, warehousing facilities, offices, a canteen, and associated site facilities. The project was completed three weeks early, within budget, and with a zero-incident safety record.
Due to the successful delivery of this project, from greenfield site to state-of-the-art medical device facility, Ardmac were shortlisted for the Commercial Construction Award in the Irish Construction Industry Awards 2017.
